Meet Our Staff

Dr. Rehan Malik graduated from the University of Liverpool, School of Dental Surgery in 1982. He was awarded the Alumni Dental Prize from the University of Liverpool and worked as a Community Dental Officer with the University of Liverpool from 1983 to 1985. Dr. Malik moved to Canada in 1985 where he worked in Goose Bay and on the North Coast of Labrador from 1985 -1989, he then moved to Labrador City to join Big Land Dentistry with Dr. David Mitchell in 1989. 

Dr. Malik is very passionate about the quality of care that each of his patients receive while at the clinic and enjoys all aspects of dentistry.

In his free time Dr. Malik passionate about Labrador and the development of Labrador West. He enjoys art,  traveling and spending time with family and friends. 

Dr. Kapil Kapoor graduated from Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences and Research in 2001 with a degree in Dentistry. He completed a Diploma in fixed Orthodontics and started a private practice in his home town Amritsar, Punjab. After ten years of successful practice, he opened another dental office exclusively for Implant dentistry, fixed Orthodontics and various surgical procedures. He served as President of the Indian Dental Association Amritsar Branch for the years 2011-2020.

After moving to Canada, Dr. Kapoor passed the National Dental Examination Board for the International trained dentist in 2019 and joined as an Associate dentist in Big Land Dentistry with Dr. Rehan Malik. Currently he is a Fellow of International Congress of Implants in USA, International Team of Implants in the UK and as Associate Fellow of American Academy of Implant Dentistry in Canada.

He is an active member of International Association of Orthodontics, member of Academy of GP and a member of American Academy of Clear Aligners. Dr. Kapoor completed mini residency on Clear Aligner Technique from University of British Columbia in 2022. He is a certified Invisalign provider in the practice. 

Dr. Kapoor is passionate about the latest dental techniques. He believes in providing early preventive, comprehensive and emergency dental treatment/services to all the patients with long term benefits.

In his free time, he likes to go hiking, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. 

 Dr. Marcos Trein graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2007, with a DDS and extension courses in Endodontics, Periodontics and Orthodontics. He started his career working in a Dental Office located inside a metallurgical industry where he was responsible for treating workers and their families. After 6 years he left to join the Brazilian Army, where he would treat active and reserve military personnel and their dependents. He also practices at Fredericton Dental Centre in Fredericton, NB.

Besides clinical experience, Dr. Marcos has a background in research where he has participated in several published papers including a publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He strives to deliver nothing but the best to his patients and firmly believes that Dentistry is a perfect combination of art and science. 

In his free time, he enjoys jogging and outdoor activities and is an avid dog lover

Dr. Bhart Bhushan graduated from the University of Himachal Pradesh, India. He has 15+ years of experience in dentistry. Apart from clinical work, Dr. Bhart has worked as a lead Clinical Instructor at the Dental Simulation Training Center and has trained several dentists for admissions to Dental Schools in the USA and Canada. 

Dr. Bhart believes in continued education and keeps current with technology and research dentistry. He moved to Labrador City in 2017 where he joined Big Land Dentistry. He completed Academy of GP Orthodontic Program in November 2021 and Clear Comprehensive Clear Aligner Program February 2022, providing orthodontic services for all ages. Also, he completed training at the Phelan Dental Seminars for Guided Bone Regeneration for Implants and Soft Tissue Grafting for Gum Defects. He is an active member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Board and Alberta Dental Association and College.

Dr. Bhart is passionate about all aspects of dentistry and provides quality dental treatment in a stress free and relaxing atmosphere for all patients. On a personal note, Dr. Bhart loves to travel, and enjoys nature and outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking.

Dr. Deepak Artham graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from India. He then moved to Toronto and attended the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and graduated with DDS degree in 2022. After his graduation he moved from Toronto to Labrador West and since then worked as an associate dentist.

He takes great care to ensure his patients always feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit. 

Outside of the office he and his wife are kept bust with group travel, volunteering and hiking the trails in Labrador West.

Dr. Simon Zhang graduated from the university of Western Ontario. Dr. Simon is a dentist coming from Ontario excited to experience the wonders of Labrador West. Dr. Simon’s passion for dentistry stemmed from his own previous aversion to the dentist. Not being able to see what people are doing can be very scary and if you add on the fact that he did not understand any English as a child, his dental anxiety was through the roof. Now communication, patience, and understanding are his core principles propelling him through dentistry and what he believes is the key to any successful dental visit. 

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Simon enjoys snowboarding and is ready to challenge the slopes on Smokey Mountain. He is looking forward to being part of the community and doing what he can to contribute.

 Lesia received her diploma in Dental Assisting from the Keyin College in St. John’s, NL in 2004. In 2008 she received her diploma in Dental Hygiene from Oulton College in Moncton, NB. Lesia also has completed her Orthodontic and Local Anesthesia modules. 

Lesia has over 20 years in the dental field and been working at Big Land Dentistry for 15 years.

In Lesia's spare time she loves hiking and spending time with her two dogs, Tinky and Bruno!    

 Tracy graduated from Dalhousie University in 2006 with a diploma in Dental Hygiene. She has been working at Big Land Dentistry for the last 15 years. Tracy is passionate about her job, making sure patients are comfortable and having a great rapport with them is very important to her. 

Tracy is originally from the small town of Three Rock Cove, NL. She and her husband, David, have two children, Mila and Reed. As well as two pups, Jack and Tucker! 

 Allie was born and raised in Labrador City. She has been working as a dental Hygienist for 3 years in her hometown.  

She graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in 2016, and Oulton college with a diploma in Dental hygiene in 2020. She is extremely devoted to patient education and personalizing treatment to patient's needs. 

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, and spending time with her dogs.
